Lon acting, non-sedating antihistaminic
  • Sedclarit tablets
  • Composition:
    Each tablet contains:
    Loratadine (micronized)……………………10 mg

Mechanism of Action:
Sedclarit is a potent long-acting antihistaminic with selective periperal H1-receptorantagonistic activity.
It is structurally reated to tricyclic antidepressants.

Following oral adiminstration, Sedclrit is well absorbed from the gastro-intrestinal tract.
Sedclarit is highly bound to plasma protein, peak plasma concentration is reached within 1-2 hours, average half-life is 8 hours but for desloratine , metabolite is 28 hours accounting for long-lasting effect.
Sedclarit indergoes hepatic metabolism ans excreted via urine and feaces.

  • Rapid relief of nasal, ocural & dermal symptoms associated with:
    • E.g. allergic rhinitis (hay fever) such as sneezing, nasal discharge and itching, ocular itching and burning, chronic urticaria (hives) and other allergic dermatological disorders.

Hypersensitivity to Loratidine or to any of the drug components.

Patient with liver or renal impairment should be given the lower initial dose of 10 mg every other day because they have reduced clearance of Loratadine.
Sedclarit safety and efficacy to patients under 2 years old has not yet been established.

Loratadine should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed and under physician supervision.

Nursing and lactation:
Caution should be exercised when Sedclarit is administrated to nursing mothers as Loratadine and its metabolite easily pass into breast milk.

Dosage & route of administration & duration:
Follow physician instruction, Adults and children (12 years old) and over: One tablet (10 mg) daily.
Seclarit can be administrated independently of the meals.

Side effects:
Sedclarit is well tolerated
Very mild fatigue, sedation, dry mouth and headache were reported.
Rarely alopeica, tachycardia & palpitation.

Keep at temp. not exceeding 30ºC
Keep out of reach of children.

Carton box contains 2 blisters each of 10 tablets and insert leaflet.
