Composition
Diclofenac Sodium............1% (in aqueous
alcoholic gel base).
Properties:
Rheumarene gel is a
non-steroidal anti inflammatory preparation
with analgesic effects. Rheumarene gel acts
by inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
Rheumarene is rapidly & almost completely
absorbed. Rheumarene gel is well tolerated
by the skin, and has better relative
penetration and bioavailability than other
local Diclofenac prepared in emulsion base.
Rheumarene gel is accumulated in the inflamed tissues to
combat inflammation, relieve pain,
tenderness and edema. Rheumarene gel is non
greasy, colorless, washable, does not stains
clothes and leaves a pleasant sensation of
coolness and soothing.
Indications:
► Rheumarene gel
is a local treatment for the conditions
characterized by pain and inflammation such
as:
► Local rheumatic diseases as
osteoarthritis,
low back pain, etc.....
► Traumatic inflammation of joints, tendons,
ligaments and muscles.
► Musculoskeletal disorders a s brurutis,
tenosynovitis, etc.........
► Types of neuritis and neuralgia as
sciatica.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to diclofenac, to the gel
base or to any other non-steroidal
anti-inflammatory drug.
Precautions:
Rheumarene gel should not be applied to skin wounds or open
injuries, but only to intact skin surfaces.
It should not be allowed to come into
contact with the eyes or with mucous
membranes.
Dosage & route of
administration & duration:
Rheumarene gel
should be applied 3-4 times daily to the
affected area with gentle rub.
Side effects:
Rheumarene gel
is well tolerated but sometimes reddening,
itching or skin rash may occur.
