Composition:
Each tablet contains:
Diloxanide furoate…………………..250 mg
Metronidazole……………………….200 mg

Properties:
Furamebe Forte is a mixed amebicide.As it combine both diloxanide and metronidazole; Furamebe Forte is the drug of choice in chronic intestinal amebiasis and metronidazole, the drug of choice in acute intestinal amebic dysentery and in extra-intestinal amebiasis.Thus,Furamebe Forte acts at all sites of infection (within the lumen of the intestine, in the wall of the intestine and in extra-intestinal sites).

Indications:
► Acute intestinal amebic dysentery.
► Chronic intestinal amebiasis (cyst passers).
► Extra-intestinal amebiasis.
► Giardiasis.

Side effects:
Furamebe Forte is generally well tolerated,however;gastrointestinal disorders may occur in few patients.

Dosage:
► Adults……….............…..1-2 tablets three times daily after meals for 7-10 days.
► Childern(5-12 years)….….1/2 -1 tablet three times daily after meals.
The course of treatment may be repeated if necessary.
