Lansoprazole…………………..30mg or 15 mg
Properties: ► Lansoprazole belongs to a
class of antisecretory compounds, the
substituted benzimidazoles,it is a proton
pump inhibitor it suppress the gastric acid
secretion by the inhibition of the (H+,K+)
ATPase enzymes system at the secretory
surface of the gastric parietal cell. it
blocks the final step of acid production.
This effect is dose related and leads to
inhibition of both basal and stimulated
gastric acid secretion irrespective of the
stimulus. ► The absorption of Lansoprazole is rapid so
no significant effect of food on absorption
if the drug is taken before meals. ► Lansoprazole is 97% bound to the plasma
proteins. It is extensively metabolites in
liver. ► The acid inhibitory effect of Lansoprazole
last for 24 hours.
Indications: ► Active duodenal ulcer. ► Gastric ulcers. ► Erosive esophagitis. ► Pathological hypersecretory conditions
including Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome.

Patients with known hypersensitivity to any
components.
Side effects:
Zollipak is generally well
tolerated, rare and mild flatulence.
Diarrhea or constipation may occur.
Use during pregnancy
and lactation: ► Zollipak is classified as
category "B" for use in pregnancy ► Zollipak should not be given during
lactation unless it is clearly indicated.
Dosage: ► Duodenal

The recommended adult oral starting
dose…....…two capsules(60 mg) once daily
Dose of 90mg (3 capsules) bid have been
administrated
Daily doses greater than 120 mg should be
administrated in divided doses.
N.B. No dosage adjustment is necessary in
patients with renal insufficiency or the
elderly.
For patients with severe hepatic
insufficiency, dose adjustment should be
considered.
