Properties:
Magnabiotic is an oral antibacterial combination of Amoxycillin & Clavulanic acid.
Amoxycillin:
Is a broad spectrum semi synthetic penicillin .
Clavulanic acid:
Is a B-lactam structurally related to Penicillins that inactivate B-lactamase enzymes commonly found in micro-organisms resistant to penicillin .
The combination of Amoxycillin / Clavulanic acid extends the antibiotic spectrum of Amoxycillin to include bacteria normally resistant to Amoxycillin & other B-lactam antibiotics. Magnabiotic is wel absorbed from G.I.T after oral administration, stable in the presence of gastric acid & may be administered with out regard to to meals. About 50-70 % of Magnabiotic is excreted unchanged in urine during the first 6 hours after oral administration . It diffuses readily into most body tissues & fluids & can be detected in middle ear effusion .

Indications:
► Upper respiratory tract & E.N.T infections :
Sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis , laryngitis, otitismedia ,etc...
► Lower respiratory tract infections :
Bronchitis, pneumonia, emphysema, lung abscess etc....
► Gastrointestinal infections :
Enteritis, billary tract infection.
► Genito-urinary tract infections :
Cystitis, urethritis, gonorrhea etc...
► Skin & soft tissue infections :
Cellulitis, erysipelas, boils, carbuncles etc...
► others : Septicemia, osteomyelitis, etc...

Contraindications:
A history of allergic reactions to any Penicillin is a contraindication.

Dosage & route of administration & duration:
► Children:
9 months - 2 year :1/2 teaspoonful Magnabiotic 156.25 mg every 8 hours .
2 - 7 year :1 teaspoonful Magnabiotic 156.25 mg every 8 hours .
7 - 12year:2 teaspoonful Magnabiotic 156.25 mg every 8 hours .
or teaspoonful Magnabiotic 312.5 mg every 8 hours .

► Adults:
Mild to moderate infections : One tablet Magnabiotic  375 mg every 8 hours.
Severe infections : One tablet Magnabiotic  625 mg every 8 hours.

Side effects:
Magnabiotic is generally well tolerated. The majority of side effects are mild & transient and consist mainly of diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort, skin rashes & urticaria which disappear upon discontinuation of therapy.

Storage:
Keep in a cool dry place at temp. less than 25ºC.
Keep medicine out of reach of children.

Bottle of 60 ml or 80 ml of (156.25 mg)or(312.5 mg).
Box of 8, 10 tablets (375 mg) or (625 mg).
