Jojoba oil is extracted from seeds of Jojoba

Schnider).It is made of chain of esters of
mono-unsaturated long chain fatty acids and
fatty alcohols and has average total carbon
chain length of 4 carbons; so; it is
classified chemically as liquid wax.
Researches showed that Jojoba liquid wax
possesses the six general factors that
increase permeation in stratum corneum, low
viscosity, high unsaturation, low
saponification number which together help to
avoid the two important causes of premature

Jojoba oil is characterized by having 50% of
its content as unsaponifiables, whereas all
other vegetable oils contain around 2-3%
