Properties: |
In spite of GIT fluid losses due to inhibition of
the main electrolyte pumps, Hydro-safe salts permit
sodium and water absorption from the intestine
through glucose dependant sodium channels.
Hydro-safe salts are not only very effective in
dehydration therapy but also in controlling vomiting
& fever.
The low content of sodium in hydro-safe salts
lessens the risk of hypernatremia.

Dosage & Administration: |
Dissolve the content of the sachet in 200 ml
previously boiled and cooled water.
Oral administration:
►For prophylaxis:
100-200ml (from half to one cup) given slowly by a
cup and spoon for each loose stool
►In case of some dehydration:
75 ml / kg of body weight, the amount should be
given over a period of4 hours.
►Concomitant losses like vomiting or diarrhea should
also be replaced.
►Nasogastric drip:
20 ml / kg of body weight

Indications: |
►In case of dehydration caused by gastroenteritis or
diarrhea.
►Mild and moderate dehydration.
►As prophylactic from dehydration in case of working
in very hot weather & during pilgrimage.

Precautions: |
Take care of over and under dilution.
Do not add sugar.
Do not boil the prepared solution or store more than
24 hours.
Introduce slowly to avoid vomiting.
Only breast feeding should be continued during the
hours of rehydration therapy.

Keep away from moisture & at temp. Not exceeding
30°C
Keep out of reach of children.
