Composition:
Each tablet contains:
Ambroxol hydrochloride ............................... 30 mg
Each teaspoonful (5 ml) of the syrup contains:
Ambroxol hydrochloride .............................. 15 mg
Properties:
Ambroxol is a clinically
proven systemically active mucolytic agent.
When administered orally onset of action
occurs after about 30 minutes. The breakdown
of acid mucopolysaccharide fibers makes the
sputum thinner and less viscid and therefore
more easily removed by coughing. Although
sputum volume eventually decreases, its
viscosity remains low for as long as
treatment is maintained.
Indications:
All forms of Tracheobronchitis,
emphysema with
bronchitis
pneumoconiosis,chronic inflammatory
pulmonary conditions, bronchiectasis,
bronchitis with
bronchospasm
asthma. During
acute exacerbations of bronchitis it should
be given with the appropriate antibiotic.
Contraindications:
There are no absolute contraindication but
in patients with gastric ulceration relative
caution should be observed.
Precautions:
It is advisable to avoid use during the first trimester of pregnancy.
Dosage & route of administration & duration:
► Adults .............................. daily dose of 30 mg (one tablet)to 120 mg (4 tablets) is given in 2 to 3 divided doses
► Children up to 2½ years ....... teaspoonful 2 times daily
► Children 2½ - 5 years ............. teaspoonful 3 times daily.
► Children over 5 years ........... One teaspoonful 2-3 times daily.
Adverse effects:
Occasional gastrointestinal
side effects may occur but these are almost
invariably mild.
Storage:
Keep at temp. not exceeding 30°C.
Keep medicine out of reach of children.

Box of 10 ,1000 tablets.
Bottle of 60 ml, 120 ml.
